    The Happiness Lab

The science of happiness may sound a little senseless, but it’s something that Yale Professor Dr Laurie Santos has studied for decades. According to her, many of us do the exact opposite of what makes us truly happy. By sharing some of the latest scientific research and surprising yet inspiring stories, The Happiness Lab will change the way you think about happiness.

    Important health & wellbeing dates

Try something new and improve your health and wellbeing.

    • Hiking to Heal

It’s been proven that walking in nature can reduce stress and anxiety significantly, but between the lockdowns and winter weather, much of this year has been spent inside. Now’s the time to get back out and about. Find a hiking trail near you so you can get back to nature and fit a workout in while you’re at it.

    • Take a Trip to the Market

When was the last time you did your weekly shop at a fresh food market? If it was recently, great! You know all about the health benefits of eating minimally processed foods - not to mention the added bonus of supporting local businesses and farmers. Visit your local fresh food market and make a day out of it.

    • Find a Creative Outlet

Never underestimate the power of creativity. Whether it’s drawing, painting, writing, singing or dancing, releasing your inner artist is a great way to disconnect from the outside world and express your inner thoughts. If you’re interested in how creativity can improve your overall health, check out the article below.

    Check in with Yourself

    • With R U Okay Day on September 9 and World Mental Health Day on October 10, Spring is especially big for mental health awareness.

That being said, your mental health should always be a priority, so take the time to check in with yourself and apply practices to your day-to-day life to ensure you’re feeling your best.

    Helpful Resources

There is a lot going on in the world at the moment and it’s easy to find yourself a little lost. It’s okay to feel a little overwhelmed but it’s important to know that there are plenty of people and resources out there to help you.

Wellness is the complete integration of body, mind, and spirit – the realization that everything we do, think, feel, and believe has an effect on our state of well-being.
