CARBON NEUTRAL CERTIFICATIONQuintessential's property funds management business has, for its third year, received Carbon Neutral certification by Climate Active. We have invested in an offset project that provides economic, social and environmental benefits to communities as well as reducing emissions. We have a desire to be sustainable and transparent in all of our reporting, as we aim to continue our Carbon Neutral certification beyond 2023. We're also using this opportunity to create awareness and change in our personal and corporate behaviour to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

A qualified civil and environmental engineer, Shane brings over 20 years’ experience across major building projects in Europe and Australia to his role as Executive Chair of Quintessential. Shane has been involved in all facets of office, industrial and residential property development from concept to technical due diligence, acquisition, construction, asset management, development management, financing through to property sale.

Shane founded the Quintessential group of companies in 2004with Quintessential Constructions and Quintessential Investments and has been directly involved in the acquisition, property and development management of many significant commercial buildings.

This approach has been critical in shaping Quintessential's philosophy to this day, as the business endeavours to identify opportunities through expert engineering assessments - where others would see risk – Shane has seen opportunity, and where others have seen opportunity Shane has seen risk and stayed away from those investments. This has created long term value for tenants and investors.

Harry Rosenberg founded Quintessential, together with Shane Quinn, in July 2010.

Previously, Harry practised as a Chartered Accountant for nearly 40 years in tax and business advisory, earning the trust of his clients. Harry continues to earn the trust of families and financial advisers who have become Quintessential investors.  Quintessential has become synonymous with Harry and Harry’s values are imbedded in every aspect of the business.

Richard Lucas is the CEO of Quintessential.

With a career spanning over 25 years, Richard has a proven track record of success in executive finance across global markets. After a three-year tenure as Quintessential's Chief Financial Officer, Richard was appointed CEO in 2023.

Richard’s experience and knowledge of property, construction, and large-scale production assets has enabled him to take Quintessential to new heights and provided stability through a period of uncertainty and change during the COVID pandemic.

Richard fosters a collaborative culture, implementing strategic financial planning for growth and monitoring for consistent results. Prioritising innovation and client service, he guides Quintessential's short and long-term strategies, ensuring a clear future direction.

Richard has spent many years in executive roles after obtaining a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne. He started his career in the professional services firms, reaching Manager at KPMG, then Director at PWC, before moving into industry targeting high growth CFO roles which ultimately expanded into leadership roles as General Manager at John Beever (Aust) (engineering & construction) and Managing Director at Wolf Minerals (mining). In between these roles, Richard leveraged his experience to provide consulting services to directly support owners of growing private businesses.

As Wolf Minerals’ Managing Director, Richard led over 300 people through a rapidly changing business. He successfully increased sales by 70 per cent and improved safety, employee satisfaction, and product quality while reducing operating unit costs.

In his role as CEO, Richard is committed to ensuring Quintessential Equity is prepared to take on the growth being pursued under the current business strategy. Good governance, fit for purpose systems and people management underpin Richard’s approach to the continued success and progress of the business.

As Chief Investment & Operating Officer at Quintessential, Andrew brings a wealth of international experience to the company, ensuring investors and tenants alike receive a service that is nothing short of superior.

Andrew has great attention to detail and his expertise and skills include running large profitable operating businesses, reporting to boards and investment committees, establishing strategic plans, implementing business plans, raising capital and engagement with domestic and international investors.

Over the years, some of Andrew’s key achievements include having developed and acquired more than $25b of real estate across key sectors and overseeing and leading the management of Australia’s largest office portfolio.

Andrew has held the title of number one developer of office buildings across Australia over the last 30 years and the number one developer of world-leading sustainable buildings across Australia over the previous 15 years. Both are Australian all-time records, driven by Andrew’s passion for growth, change, and integration.

Peter Bird has an established track record as a senior finance professional in property development and investment.  As CFO of Quintessential, Peter’s role is to ensure the financial wellbeing of the business and entities that Quintessential manages on behalf of investors.  His role extends to assessing property development and acquisition opportunities as part of the management team, driving the strategic direction of the business, ensuring the organisation’s systems and capabilities are appropriate to facilitate desired growth targets and managing the debt financing needs of the investment entities.  

Peter’s prior roles include being CFO at Gandel Group for 11 years and PDG Corporation for 4 years.  At Gandel Group Peter managed loan facilities of circa $1.5bn.  In the time that Peter was at PDG Corporation it completed over $1bn of property developments for a diverse range of stakeholders and customers. In both these roles Peter helped the businesses navigate the many challenges of an at times volatile external environment. Peter has also worked in the mining sector, a big 4 accounting practice, a merchant bank and in London earlier in his career, providing valuable additional perspectives.

Peter is a Chartered Accountant and holds an MBA (with Distinction) from Melbourne Business School.

Noah’s passion for management of people and assets began more than 12 years ago, at Quintessential. Having progressed through the business and observed the growth of Quintessential, Noah has cultivated strong relationships with key stakeholders and the teams he works closely with. As Head of Existing Assets, Noah successfully oversees the transactions team to source appropriate opportunities to acquire property that meets the Quintessential mandate, including value add and core plus opportunities for office and industrial property. Engaging with the market and working with key stakeholders, Noah is skilled at procuring outstanding opportunities to feed to the asset management team.

Managing assets for Quintessential in various capacities for over a decade has given Noah a deep understanding of client needs, as well as the sourcing and regeneration of assets. Noah’s hands-on approach to leadership empowers the teams under his guidance to go above and beyond to provide an experience like no other for tenants. Noah oversees the asset management team to deliver on tenant engagement strategy, leasing and marketing strategy, CAPEX programs, and seamless management of buildings, while providing exceptional risk-mitigated returns. Noah prides himself on working closely with agents, tenants, and consultants to ensure all assets are managed in line with Quintessential’s ‘love the tenant’ philosophy. Under his leadership, Quintessential’s tenant retention rate remains exceptionally high.

Noah’s expertise in asset management allows him to manage tenant relationships and asset performance with a high level of service throughout the life cycle of a property. His close attention to detail and diligent approach has seen him develop and maintain meaningful relationships and allowed him to procure opportunities for acquisition that others might overlook. Quintessential and their clients continue to benefit from Noah’s passion for the mechanical and aesthetic regeneration of buildings, ensuring tenant satisfaction is a priority. With a strong focus on sustainability and design, Quintessential’s tenants are met with an excellent experience in which they can constantly thrive.

With industry experience spanning 20 years across various sectors including property development, national construction, international major events, and tourism, Carmen prides herself on her strong ability to understand customer needs and build productive relationships. Carmen works collaboratively with key stakeholders to develop and deliver effective marketing strategies and realise commercial outcomes, drawing on her extensive experience to structure businesses for reaching optimal success and developing high performance teams.

Carmen has been recognised for her ability to lead high-profile, multi-million dollar events, programs, and campaigns. Most notably, she received several awards for managing the brand strategy and marketing of the 2022 FIFA World Cup bid, Olympics and subsequent infrastructure marketing.

Carmen is passionate about using digital technology including artificial intelligence, machine learning, automation, and big data to create efficiencies and encourage collaboration between teams.

She understands the power of storytelling and uses her creativity and deliberate thinking to create impactful brands that people remember.

Peter Kahan is the Chair of Quintessential's Advisory Board.

Peter is a well-recognised figure in the retail property investment space. He is known for his extensive career across various leadership and executive roles in large listed and private companies.

Peter’s skillset spans property management, property funds management, broad based investment, manufacturing, and chartered accounting. Over the past 30 years, he has amassed considerable expertise in strategy, governance, and mergers and acquisitions through his extensive industry experience.

Before joining Quintessential, Peter served as the Chair of Vicinity Centre's, a leading Australian retail property group. This was followed by his six-year tenure with the company. In the capacity of anon-executive director, he has participated on various boards, held the position of chairman for both remuneration and human resources committees, and been a member of the audit, investment, risk, due diligence, and nomination committees.

Fiona has been a member of the Quintessential Advisory Board since February 2020.  She is also an independent Non-Executive Director at the Link Group (ASX:LNK), Prospa (ASX:PGL), Perpetual Limited (ASX:PPT) and a Board Director with the Victorian Funds Management Corporation.  Fiona chairs the Audit Committee at the Link Group and the Audit and Risk Committee at Prospa.  She is also a member of the Investment Committee at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute.

Prior to transitioning from executive roles in December 2019, Fiona was an Investment Director (2017-2019) at Frontier Advisors, one of Australia’s leading institutional investment advisory firms, where she also previously held the positions of Managing Director (2000-2011) and Director of Consulting (2011-2017).  Fiona was Frontier’s foundation Managing Director and played a critical role in growing the firm.  Prior to 2000, Fiona was the Manager, Investment Advisory Services at Industry Fund Services (the business unit that was the precursor to Frontier Advisors), held a Research Associate role at Towers Perrin and a Research Officer role at a Queensland Treasury sponsored research unit run at James Cook University of North Queensland.

In 2013, Fiona was named as the inaugural “Woman of the Year” in the Money Management/Super Review Women in Financial Services Awards, as well as one of the top 10 global Asset Consultants by the US-based financial journal Chief Investment Officer from 2013 to 2016 inclusive and again in 2019.  She was also announced as a winner in The Australian Financial Review and Westpac 100 Women of Influence Awards for 2016 in the Board/management category.

Fiona holds a Bachelor of Economics with first class Honours from James Cook University of North Queensland, receiving a University Medal on completion of her Honours degree, a Master of Finance from RMIT and is a Graduate of the AICD.

Michelle has been a member of the Quintessential Advisory Board since October 2020. Michelle is a director of a private investment company, and has more than 30 years financial services experience, including 10 years as Chief Investment Officer of a family office.

Michelle holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Western Australia, is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia, a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a qualified Chartered Accountant.

She currently chairs Impact Asset Management and the Investment Committee of Impact Investment Group, advises HNW families and works for a number of philanthropic organisations.

Michelle is a member of Global Citizen’s Policy Advisory Board in New York, a director of the Jewish Care Foundation Trust and until recently was a Director of So They Can, an African NGO.

Russell is an accomplished leader who takes pride in enhancing Quintessential's culture and underlying business through delivery of property regenerations and developments. With innovation and a commitment to client service at the forefront, Russell develops and leads the execution of Quintessential’s short and long-term strategies to provide a clear direction for the future.

Russell has consistently delivered strong financial performance in line with budgets, forecasts, and business plans, whilst simultaneously addressing financial stability and risk. He is heavily focussed on maintaining a happy, motivated, and collaborative work environment, allowing for the development of a highly competent and talented team.

With career beginnings in property analysis and valuation at CBA, Russell progressed through various consultant and management roles at PwC, across multiple continents. As Managing Director and Co-Founding Member of Alvarez & Marsal Real Estate Advisory in the USA, Russell provided investment management, financial advisory, and due diligence services to real estate investors, developers, and lenders on more than US$3 billion of transactions. As Head of Real Estate at MacarthurCook, he led the work-out and reorganisation of its direct real estate business after the GFC.

Over the past decade, Russell has gained a deep understanding of the workings of Quintessential and its dedicated staff through his roles as Head of Property and COO, before becoming CEO in 2018.

Russell is a highly qualified leader who has nurtured a lifelong passion for property. He has obtained a Bachelor of Business (Property) from the University of South Australia and a Diploma of Applied Finance and Investment, as well as having completed the Advanced Management Program at Melbourne Business School. He is also a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia.
