Foster carers needed urgently across Melbourne pandemic causes strain | Herald Sun
A core commitment for Quintessential Equity is to always leave things better than we found it. In search of an opportunity to contribute positively to the community through an initiative that aligned with the business’s values, Quintessential Equity has partnered with Lighthouse Foundation to support the launch of the Hub Home project in Ivanhoe East.
The Hub Home Foster Care project is the first of its kind in the world. Bringing together Lighthouse’s 30+ years of experience within the foster care system, with the financial support, property expertise and network of Quintessential Equity, the innovative pilot project aims to address some of the foster care system’s major challenges by providing tailored, trauma-informed support within an established local community network. The model centres around a number of dedicated ‘hub homes’, each surrounded by 10 foster care households. These hubs are designed to be a central place where families can connect, and gain extensive support, training and respite care. This unique way of caring supports families by creating a community around them – offering 24-hour support to both child and carer.
We are so proud to support the important work of Lighthouse Foundation in providing better outcomes for Australia’s most vulnerable children. Learn more about the project and the ways you can support in the below article from the Herald Sun.
